If you believe receiving a review product for free makes a review biased, now is a perfect time for you to stop reading. Factory calibration can only last so long before the monitor colours start to drift and become less and less accurate, so it is extremely beneficial in the long run if you invest in a colorimeter. The main reason is that I experienced slightly worse cursor accuracy on the XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro than on the XP-Pen Artist 15. However, it makes sense to me that he would not notice it since it’s not such a massive issue that you would become unable to draw on the tablet with it. Comes with a replaceable anti-glare optical film to reduce glare and keep your screen crisp and clear even bright light.

The dial fits comfortably in your hand and can be programmed for more customization options, letting you capture and express your ideas faster and more easily. The stand is made of hard plastic and has rounded corners at most places so that it won't cut your hands or create scratches. It is also fully laminated, which is used to reduce the distance between the pen tip and the screen. I would most certainly suggest consulting XP-Pen support about it with a video capturing it happening.

The arrow points in the direction which the stroke was done, and the smoothness of the gradients show how smooth the pen pressure transitions. With regards to the difference between the XP-Pen Artist 12 and Artist 12 Pro, I suggest that you don’t consider the Artist 12, especially if the Artist 12 Pro is cheaper. There are 3 physical buttons on the right side (If you are using it in right-handed mode), The power button, brightness down, and brightness up. However, my explanation above is the main reason why I started saying 8(+1 wheel) is my bare minimum. The Calibrate button brings up the pen calibration which is a 5-point calibration using the 4 corners and the middle. As you can see in the picture above, the pen tip is really close to the cursor, with big reductions made to the thickness of the glass using the fully-laminated display.

Just like many other fully-laminated displays, due to the thinness of the glass, you can cause ripples on the screen to appear when pressing hard. The XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro is a continuation of the Artist Pro series which previously only offered tablets larger than 15.I will give this tablet a pass here since there don’t appear to be any noticeable issues in the pen pressure transitions either. If you are used to working on a 24″ or bigger monitor like me, things might look small while working on this 12″ display tablet for the first time.
