Often rather erroneously described as an " Auto Focus" system which Steiner markets as their "Sports-Auto-Focus" system, I prefer to think of them as an "Always in Focus" binocular as once you have adjusted each of the diopters to complement your particular vision the image you see remains sharp and in focus from about 20 meters away right to infinity and no further adjustments are ever required. The Steiner Navigator Pro is thereby always sharp from 20m to infinity thanks to the Sports Auto Focus system. The only real downside to this is the fairly long minimum focus distance, but in this situation, I found I was mostly looking at the bank, up at the tops of trees, cliff faces or further up the river to navigate the best route and thus this was not often an issue for me. Very interesting reading your findings about the latest Navigator, and great to hear someone as experienced as you stating the simple facts as they are. STEINER High-Contrast-Optics provide bright, sharply contoured images with natural colour definition for outstanding viewing quality suitable for both beginners and professionals.

The porro prism optical design combined with the fully multicoated optics provides high-contrast images with true color representation and long depth of field. I'm not sure if there were elements of "invisible sponsorship" or "stage/camera management" involved, but representatives from various branches of professional users, such as the military, hunting community and marine industry were interviewed, and Steiner binoculars were very well portrayed. This has been remarked from time to time in this forum (and birdforum), usually by those among us who have matured past seeking in binos simply high power and big front lenses. As with any marine binocular worth its salt, the Steiner Navigator Pro 7x30 binoculars have fully waterproof and fogproof O-ring seals. So if you are planning on using these bins often on a boat and for long periods, I would consider getting it. I found the cups themselves to be very comfortable even when pushed firmly against my face and this is certainly one area where they have the advantage over the twist-up type on most binoculars. Legendary ruggedness Due to durable Makrolon housing made of polycarbonate that withstands impacts up to 11G, floating prism bearings for shock absorption, water pressure proofness up to 5m, nitrogen pressure filling against fogging inside, temperature range from -20°C to +70°C. If you need to, you can actually reduce the minimum focal distance a fairly long way by adjusting both of the diopters. The children’s binoculars come with adjustable features to ensure an optimal image for a wide range of different vision needs.

On the kayak and with a paddle and camera to deal with, this was certainly an advantage as it made it much easier for me to use these Steiner Navigator Pro 7x30 Binoculars with just one hand. Likewise and so long as you don't need a very short minimum focus distance or indeed need a lot of detail at a long-range, I feel these Steiner Navigator Pro's can more than hold their own as an all-round wildlife and general use instrument. This large, illuminated compass also features a bearing mark and facilitates navigation on all bodies of water. The Steiner Navigator Pro 7x30 is a very strong light telescope with a large pupil, which makes the viewer virtually 24 hours useful. It becomes clear why these binoculars are so well suited to surveillance work as they are meant for panning the sky or landscape with most everything in focus.

Considering that the objective lenses are fairly small and thus cant collect as much light as larger lenses, these 4.So I bought another pair for the farm and I reckon they save me time every single day, because the clarity they give saves me having to 'go see' what is going on. I wrote a 15 page review of it,which can still be found in this forum's "Link to 433+ reviews" virtual library. Thanks to their roof prism optics, the 7x30 binoculars have a compact design – perfect for young children.

Either way, this is not really what this type of binocular is designed for and so I would still not recommend them to anyone who often needs to view objects at close range. The Illusion 7×30 is designed to give a very light weight binocular coupled with exceptional clarity and brightness. The texturing of the body has been designed for a more comfortable and strong grip in any situation to further enhance the user experience.
