Council Skies’ is the highly anticipated fourth studio album from Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. Council Skies was recorded at Noel’s own Lone Star Sound Recording Studios in London, with the album’s lusciously orchestrated strings recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. They have a feel of the mid to later Oasis albums but written in a superior way and more how they should have been done. is another very strong song that has a bit of the electronic ambience of Standing on the Shoulder of Giants - though better written - combined with the trademark acoustic strum of Oasis (a bit like Wonderwall).

In fact the most interesting track on his new album is the title track, which has an unusual Style Council/Soul feel to it (Gallagher has always been a bit of a Weller fanboy). I'm Not Giving Up Tonight is a good start while the optimistic, sprightly Open the Door, See What You Find - about finding your place in the world - warranted its place as the fifth single. Se agradece mucho que la edición deluxe sea otro disco lleno de versiones, remixes y alguna canción que no está en el disco final. This 10 track album includes the new singles ‘Pretty Boy’ and ‘Easy Now’ plus an Album version of the previously released demo ‘We’re Gonna Get There In The End’ as a bonus track. Noel version of Lennon’s “Mind Games” is what you would expect a John Lennon song would sound like if sung by a Gallagher. Council Skies’ is the highly anticipated fourth studio album from Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds released on 2nd June 2023.

Council Skies takes its title from a book by revered northern illustrator and friend of Noel, artist Pete McKee. Easy Now is another highlight with some atmospheric keyboards/effects combined with some quite anthemic guitar work that somewhat resembles 2002's Little by Little. It is the most Oasis-like of the whole record, will surely please gig-goers who prefer the old material and bridges Noel Gallagher's most famous band with the High Flying Birds’ first album. The singles from this album didn’t do much for me as they were gradually trickled out one by one, but as an album in it’s full they all work much better somehow. The album includes the new singles ‘Pretty Boy’ and ‘Easy Now’ plus an album version of the previously released demo ‘We’re Gonna Get There In The End’ as a bonus track. Council Skies' is the highly anticipated fourth studio album from Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. His most varied and accomplished solo record to date, Noel’s fourth solo studio album is a record framed by confidence, risk-taking, surefooted creative freedom, and great emotional depth.

Speaking of those two tracks the Deluxe version of the album is worth having just for the remixes of those two. Council Skies' is the highly anticipated fourth studio album from Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. The album includes the singles 'Pretty Boy' and 'Easy Now', plus an album version of the previously released demo 'We're Gonna Get There in The End' as a bonus track. Although slightly more experimentation would be pleasing next time, this is a truly really strong set of tunes - tracks 2-7 are especially magical - and the most complete album of Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds discography. Includes an album version of the previously released demo ‘We’re Gonna Get There In The End’ as a bonus track.and the penultimate track Love is a Rich Man are unashamedly mid to fast paced traditional/dad rock but they inject this mostly ballad filled album with a couple of vital louder numbers. There are some strong songs on “Council Skies”, but it's all pretty much what would be expected from one of Noel’s solo offerings.

From the evocative album title to the cover art, to the lyrics themselves, Council Skies sees Noel Gallagher reclaiming his past and paying homage to his Mancunian roots.Production is fairly typical of Noel it’s not an audiophile grade recording, but it’s ok and much better than his David Holmes produced album WBTM. Council Skies' is the perfect illustration of Noel's sound, beautifully produced and nicely presented INCLUDING bonus 7". The 21st century Oasis efforts were patchy in greatness, but the first HFB album included a lot of the really good leftovers that were either going to be on a future Oasis record if there had not been a row or maybe did not fit the sound and were more suitable as a solo tracks. This 10 track album includes the singles ‘Pretty Boy’ and ‘Easy Now’ plus an Album version of the previously released demo ‘We’re Gonna Get There In The End’ as a bonus track. Overall it’s better than Who Built The Moon by a long stretch in my opinion, but I don’t know if I’ll be going back to this album over and over like I did (and still do) with his first two solo albums.
